Top 10 Female Raven/ Black Hair Video Game Characters
Top 10 Female Raven/ Black Hair Video Game Characters
Hi! Welcome to Top 10 Females Video Game Characters with Black/ Raven hair that is easy to cosplay as for people to wear or buy. Remember each list consists of characters from
categories/subcategories in which people can buy or find to cosplay without
having to stress about money or sewing skills. Again, like the Top 10 Males, I
look for diversity, easy to find, well known and fun outfits in order to cover
all bases but also to give everyone a choice. But if you do feel I missing a
video character that would fit in this list please email or contact me and they
might make the second edition of this list. However, unlike the top 10 males
there not many suits on this list so sorry fold those bowties and suit jackets
away. Please be aware that I also have
left some links to tutorials for some of the cosplay please note that these
tutorials are not CosplayCount work and they
belong to and copyrighted by their respected individuals, groups or business so
please support them and acknowledge their
great works. This also applies to all photos images as they to are copyrighted belong to their respected sources and series. I hope many of you gain some ideas and inspiration from the list. Thank
you and enjoy.
1. Ada Wong -Resident Evil
Known for her aloof demeanour and exotic looks this spy in Resident Evil always seems to
be fighting the undead in fashion. Although mostly known for her long red dress
with a side leg split from Resident Evil 4, Ada Wong has many more designs that
are more accessible and cheaper to find. In Resident Evil2 we're introduced to the femme fatale spy in a pink dress that was later remastered into a
red dress. Both of the dresses are kind of like party dresses with no sleeves
and are halter tops. With also black tights/ stockings and belts on both of
them though the red dress has a gun holster and fingerless black gloves but it wouldn't be a disaster if
you cosplay without it. I recommended comfortable heels or flats that might match and has
the same vibe also note the character has short black hair. There's another
version of these dresses where Ada is all bandaged up and her dress is teared up
giving this cosplay has more of the horror vibe of Resident Evil.
The other more accessible cosplay of Ada Wong is from Resident Evil 6 with an open button high collar long sleeve red shirt and black pants that could be black leather, black denim jeans or any black pants maybe even suit black pants. She wears a black belt with a short chain attach and black pouch on it. Also, accessorising with long black gloves and black high boots and a necklace with a cross on.
2. Chloe Frazer – Uncharted series
Chloe Frazer an alluring treasure hunter from for Uncharted
2,3,4 and a new spin-off game Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. One of the animators from, Naughty Dog, have
confirmed she is half Indian and as well with that
accent we know she is Australian too. Making her a diverse character that
anyone can cosplay and fun to for being as she is an intelligent and skilled
professional in her craft of treasure hunting. Her signature design is easy to
cosplay. First, a black singlet/tank top that cuts off above the navel; note that it
does show the midriff if not comfortable with this it okay to wear a longer one.
Then on top of the singlet is a red scoop or v neck shirt. Now there is one
small detail that makes it hard to find in a store which is the red shirt has a
blue outline around the neck front but that can be ignored so you don't have to
worry about it. Or the other option id if you have any spared small blue pieces
of materials or ribbons and just glue them on. But as stated before it okay to ignore that aspect part as everyone will
still be able to tell who you are cosplaying as. She also wears her hair in a low ponytail. There’s another shirt design
that is a light orange same shape as the red that a person could keep an eye
out for but note this design of the shirt is not usual cosplay famous but may
be easier for some to cosplay Chloe as. She also wears 2 simple beaded
necklaces and a red band choker around her neck. Around one of her wrist, she
wears a simple band with a red and white striped piece of material. Her pants
can either be beige, tan, brown or green with pockets and a brown belt to cosplay her. Also, black, brown, or even grey boots. You can add little details like a compass or a map to the cosplay. Her character does carry side arms so if you have a pretend weapon or holster it too will add to the drama of the cosplay.
Another Chloe Frazer cosplay comes from Uncharted 3. This time her design more simple and swappable
to cosplay for. Again, with either tan, beige, green, or light brown pants or
even jeans with a brown belt. A black shirt with either a red or dark brown
jacket or a light brown or tan jacket. Again, black boots and a simple black wrap around necklace.
3. Rochelle- Left 4 Dead 2
Yep, another
zombie survivor but she just as badass. Rochelle was a low-level associate producer for a news station covering a story when an outbreak of zombies' attack. Leaving her to get out with a crazy mechanic, con-artist, and the local school coach( which may be his name or what he like to be called by. No one knows). Rochelle wears a pink shirt with a specific band/DJ on it. To cosplay her I wouldn't worry about the logo in the middle as long as it's pink I think even if I had another logo on it no one will mind and still be fine. With a belt on the hips over the top of the pink shirt. She also wears jeans and brown boots
easy to cosplay and are accessible to be found at a store but don't worry too
much about the shoes. Big hoop earrings too which are so functional in a middle
of a zombie outbreak. I suggest if you have a red backpack stick a white sticker with the
hospital red cross on it to indicate a health pack from the game. Again, don’t
worry about being neat or tidy or dry cleaning when cosplaying as a zombie
survivor.
4. Jade- Beyond Good and Evil
This sassy but lovable protagonist comes from the 2003 action game, Beyond Good and Evil. This photojournalist and martial artist have been viewed by many as a positive character to play as and a refreshing style that helps her stand out. Jade is very casual about her appearance and clothes which make her very easy to cosplay as. The main thing is the colour green to
follow. But to start a white singlet with a green jacket or a green sports
jacket. If you can’t find either then I recommend a green long or up to elbow
plain green shirt wear it open and it still should have the same style as Jade for cosplay. She also wears green pants so they can either be regular green pants, jean green pants, or sport tracksuit long green pants do not worry about
the pattern on the side of the pants as it blends in with the cosplay and
nobody would notice. But if so grab a black marker and go wild on those green
pants. However, there are many who instead just regular jeans of blue and that
still has the same effect and looks good. Jade is an adventure so I suggest some
comfortable running shoes but whatever you have already should be fine just
avoid heels. Her accessories to cosplay with are a green
headband, a belt, and one purple fingerless glove (though it okay if it black)
she also carries a side bag. She also holds a Daï-jo staff which is a combat stick so if you have something similar at home or that is cheap from a store go ahead as it add elements to the cosplay. Due to Jade profession, you don't have to worry if your camera is in a camera shot since having it on is all about her job. The only trouble you might have for this cosplay is trying to find green
lipstick to match that outfit.
5. Faith Connors- Mirror Edge
Mirror Edge the game that took the gaming world by storm and
reinvigorating the love of parkour and the misconception you too can jump off
buildings without a scratch let alone broken bones since Assassin Creed. Faith
Connors a runner and the main protagonist has a striking style that is athletic
but easy to find. Although there are some aspects that are hard to cover they
are fun to try and get down. For
cosplaying her the easiest would be her design from the first game instead of
the reboot design as it simpler. Take note she has short hair for a wig or
hair style. She wears a black singlet with white stripes down the side, but do
not worry if you can't find any singlet/ tank tops like that just concentrating
on finding solid black singlet. No one will notice because in the game is
usually first person points of view as Faith and the stripes are located right under the arm so no one notices. With white cargo pants or white pants that go to the ankle as seen in Faith design, it seems she ties the bottom of her pants with black tape or string. She also has red fingerless gloves where gloves
however you can but cheap red finger gloves and cut off the fingers on them to
get Faith gloves. Well, actually you only need one glove so you have the other
as a spare. She also has one long black armband on her arm. For shoes, they are mainly red either sports
shoes/runners or sandshoes but if you don’t have any
then black or white sports shoes/runners or sandshoes. Also, don’t
worry about your bag getting in the way of your cosplay it adds to the effect
since Faith is a runner. Now the tricky but fun part her makeup and arm tattoo.
I repeat do not get a permanent tattoo just for one cosplay, please do not get
a permanent tattoo for this cosplay. As stated before she has an arm tattoo
where I suggest you ask for help and use either lots of black body paint or a
black marker (that is not permanent) to create it’s hard to describe so I will
leave a link to a tutorial video on YouTube and pictures of it. One of her eyes
her eyeliner on the bottom lid extends to create two spikes from her line down
to the top of her cheek. Like the band, Kiss, look the picture of Faith shows
it and also explain it easier again I will leave a YouTube tutorial video of
using eyeliner to create her look.
This first link is from the Youtube channel of AmiYoshiko titled under Mirror's Edge Faith Makeup Tutorial is really basic for makeup aspect. With no talking or advice is given but around at 2:30 in the clip she does an
incredible free hand design of Faith arm tattoo that is easy to follow.

This second link has more of a voice over and instructions
though it is based more on Faiths Mirror’s Edge Catalyst design the tutorial is
great and adds some tips on even furthering the cosplay. It can be found on Youtube
channel Tina Yong under Mirror’s Edge Catalyst Faith Transformation Tina Yong.
The tutorial for the makeup and everything starts at 0:55 into the clip.
Remember you do not have to use the products that she is using just use the
ones that you have already or you comfortable with on your skin. She also gives
tips and options later on in the clip to cosplay as Faith Connors Catalyst
design which is also simple to follow. Take note that in the clip and she
states that in the description that there is a link to both the eyes and tattoo
designs to make it easier to copy from. I also will be linking this too for
anyone interested but it thanks to Tina Yong work that we have them for
everyone.

6. Wii fit trainer female
Now this one
is a fun and quirky cosplay idea to follow. I have checked it out and a lot of
people love to cosplay as the Female Wii fit trainer. She also appears in the latest Super Smash Bro games since number 4 I personally think is a
great idea and whoever started this trend should get their kudos. Although
simple and overlooked it is easy to find gym gear. Easy to have hair or wig in a ponytail with black leggings, black sports pants or black yoga pants. With either light blue sports singlet tank top or a light blue sports bra. An easily accessible cosplay I suggest even digging up a Wii remote or borrow one to add to it. You
can even start your cosplay after or before the gym.
7. Candice -Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum
As always
here comes the Pokémon. For this list, I found Pokémon’s Diamond, Pearl, and
Platinum games Snowpoint gym leader Candice to be the easiest and accessible to
cosplay as. Keeping with the theme of the city you find her in Snowpoint City
in the Sinnoh region she mainly uses Ice-type Pokémon and an odd one out
fighting type Medicham. Her official appearance is actually the opposite to what a person would wear in the winter/ ice or cold surroundings. With a white long sleeved button up shirt that has a blue bow at the front . I recommend just finding the white shirt and just
pick up a blue ribbon instead of focusing on a white shirt that comes with a
blue bow. To make the bow you can either create the bow then safety pin it on
or grab a long ribbon and tie it up the front around the collar to make the
bow. This way would be cheaper and easier to find. She also wears a short brown
skirt and a blue sweater that she ties around her waist. For shoes, she wears
brown flats or brown closed in shoes so you don't have to be too picky on them but definitely keep an
eye out for white and blue long stripe socks. Rock those socks they are fabulous. Now her hair is the tricky but fun part she
has one strand out the front off her head hanging down. The rest is separated into two ponytails on either side of the head then
section off into three parts on each ponytail on either side by three blue
ties. She also has two round blue hair clips on each side of her head at the
front keeping the hair slick backed. Again, if you are going to cosplay her I
recommend if you have any Pokéball props or ice type Pokémon plushies to use them to add to the
effect don’t worry if you don’t have any the main thing here is to make cosplay
accessible for you for money and easy to find the clothes.
8. Willow – Don’t starve
Released in 2013 this game does have a large fandom but it
is not as well known other games. It is an adventure survival game released by indie
company Klei Entertainment with simple designs that are sweet but have the
Tim Burton spin on them. Willow is a pyromaniac girl that is easy to cosplay
she has two main designs with keeping to her main colour theme of red, black
and white. But both designs have the same hairstyle of her raven hair in two
ponytails but with the ends in upward curls. Lots of hairspray for that
style. She also wears the same shoes
that are black closed in so you can wear flats, ballet flats, heels are any
shoes as long as they are black. Also, her makeup is pretty pale giving a
little bit of a creepy vibe.
Her first design is simple red button up long sleeve shirt
with a black skirt and black leggings or tights. The skirt can be any length
just not mini.
Her second design is a white shirt with a red sweater over
it with only the white collar sticking out. Again, with a black skirt that is
not mini and black leggings or tights. A
cosplay that’s very accessible for all those that love playing with fire.
9. Daisy Fitzroy – Bioshock Infinite
Daisy Fitzroy from Bioshock Infinite is a complicated
character (like the whole entire plot and stories from Bioshock series) driven
purely for her cause making many to question her action but in
the end, she sacrifices everything for her cause and a new possibility for her city. Luckily her design is a
little easier to understand and cosplay as. To start wear a white button up
shirt where you can roll up the sleeves. With a red scarf or any red material
around her neck. Green pants and a brown belt with suspenders, they're
brown in the design but black or grey would be alright to.
She wears brown boots but like the suspenders black or any close colour would
be fine to cosplay in. Note she also wears her hair in a ponytail with loose strands on one side of her.
10. Jun Kazama - Tekken
Tekken franchise has given the video game industry a lot of
great fighting characters one of them being the mysterious Jun Kazuma; a lady
connected to many others in the series such as Jin Kazama her son. First
appearing in Tekken 2 with a fighting style more on the defensive side, based
on aspects and mixtures of aiki-jutsu , jujitsu,
and aikido. In which she has
a more comfortable and moveable outfit which is great to cosplay as. She has
black pants which can be leggings, black yoga pants or black tight sports pants
too. The length of the pants can be various but they should end in-between
below the knee and above the
ankle. White socks with black flats or black Mary-Jane shoes to finish the
bottom half of the cosplay. The top is a white sleeveless shirt and to finish
it all off a white headband too. Creating a comfortable, simple cosplay that is
also fighting character to have fun as.
That it for our list on easy to cosplay black/ raven hair
female video game characters. All good for our 2nd list keep an eye
out for our next lists for video game characters focusing around brunettes in
the industry. Remember to have fun when cosplaying but also be safe and
responsible. Again if you think I missed
out on a character or the list can be more diverse please contact me with your
suggestions by email which you can find on the contact page. I hope you
have felt inspired or enjoyed this list.
All the best from CosplayCount!
