Top 10 Male Raven/ Black Hair Video Game Charcters

Top 10 Male Raven/ Black Hair Video Game Characters
Hi! Welcome to the first list of easy cosplay for people to wear or buy. Remember each list consists of characters from categories/subcategories in which people can buy or find to cosplay without having to stress about money or sewing skills. For this list, we are covering male video game characters with raven or black hair. You'll notice that a lot of these characters might wear suits and I am aware that not all suits are cheap and most are expensive however most people will either have nice suit jackets or suit pants for work or special events so even if a person does not have a complete suit they would have one of the two of the main items you can use to be dressed in a suit. The rest you can buy like shirts, ties or vests from target or a cheap retail store or borrow from a friend. Finally, please note that I try to make these lists diverse as possible so if I do miss a character that you feel is appropriate or add more to the list please email me and they will make the new list. Also, if you feel that I have missed or got something wrong please again contact me so I can fix it and make the blog better. I hope many of you gain some ideas and inspiration from the list. Thank you and enjoy.

1. Noctis Lucis Caelum - Final Fantasy XV/ Brotherhood

Prince Noctis Lucis Caelum. Rumours about this game have been around since 2006 a decade in making later by 2016 the final fantasy franchise bring this prince to life. With designs by Hiromu Takahara, the main designer of the Japanese fashion house Roen. Because of the game just being released and the high-quality graphics and media design of Noctis, there is a lot of detail that go into his character however when braked down of his design it can be simple to cosplay him. Also, due to game story and his youth he is good to cosplay for many ages. First if concentrating on his main design a person can follow the more simplistic design that the Brotherhood anime creates. Yes, although I am doing video game list I am referencing an anime and its clothes we will get a lot of crossovers where I must decide where they will be placed. Noctis character is mainly in video games justifying my choice.  In the Brotherhood anime, Noctis outfit is the same black cargo knee length pants with an over shirt (don't worry about finding one with the zippers concentrate on finding one with pockets) and single fingerless glove. The biggest change which makes it easier to cosplay is instead of the mini skulls around the neckline shirt they change it to a plainer black/ grey-black shirt that would be easier and cheaper to find.

An alternative outfit again we get from Brotherhood anime is his school uniform so if anyone has done a school male character before you could recycle it or again it the design has common everyday clothes with white shirt, grey pants, black blazer/ jacket suit, black closed in shoes and a blue white stripe tie. Easy to find and a favourite for all those that love high school cosplay.

Now this one perfect for those younger and little children who love cosplaying. A demo went out earlier in 2016 showing a cute kid Noctis. So, anyone who's very young can try this one out. Even at a young age, Noctis had his favourite colour picked out black so be on the lookout in shops. With black sneakers with or without a white sole, black shorts, and a black short sleeve hoodie with a black shirt.  You can cosplay as this adorable young prince.

Now for some who are a bit older then the teenage protagonist in Final Fantasy XV with a bit of stubble or a beard spoiler Noctis ages and becomes an adult in which he emerges in his main outfit you can do or in another alternative deign poster outfit. Noctis emerges as a mature man in his adult suit form. With a black suit, black belt with just a black striped shirt underneath.
Another tip is if you have had cosplay Sasuke Uchiha guess whose hair look the same so you can recycle that wig again. From one new character, we get multiple cosplays to have fun with from our royal Prince Noctis Lucis Caelum.

2. Joel - The Last of Us

Let's get one thing straight there are going to be a lot of characters from zombie related genres and Joel is not or the last character from an apocalyptic world covered in zombies you can cosplay from on this list just a warning beforehand. The Last of Us is a very popular game that somehow still refresh the zombie genre on our screens. Many came to see Joel and Ellie as much adore characters. With Joel, a guilt-ridden survivor trying to be a better man after the loss of his family to protect Ellie. With a sequel coming in 2017, gamers have much to look forward to hopefully (fingers cross). With a Joel cosplay, you don't have to be neat, tidy or clean so most people have fun living it up and not worry about stains on it. Being an average person Joel wears jeans with a belt and a grizzly beard and messy hair easy to cosplay for someone mature and having a beard. His shirts go between a long sleeved green button up outdoor shirt to a green or red option plaid shirts that are also a long sleeved outdoor shirt. Note that he rolls the sleeves up to his elbows sometimes (yeah in the middle of zombies too) and sometimes has a black undershirt too. Also, Joel usual carries a backpack around along with Ellie to cosplay with bandages don't hurt either.

3. Frank West - Dead Rising

To prove my zombie related point, we have another easy to cosplay zombie survivor protagonist Frank West. Dead Rising is a more comical and creative game from Capcom other horror genres such as Resident Evil. However, what makes Frank West more different from the others hoards in man vs zombies is he has a camera so perfect for cosplayer's that constantly whipping out their cameras. That right your camera can be used in this cosplay to add to it. The main two designs for Frank west is that he wears a white button up shirt (blood splatters on the shirt are optional please use sauce, paint, red corn syrup, or marker no real blood please) also it has a collar and first top buttons are not done up.  A black jacket optional for leather or other material as long it's a jacket. Suit pants the colours are optional some people use black, green, brown, or grey some just wear jeans to and a belt. With black closed in shoes. The other option comes from the new released Dead Rising 4 with a more casual even outdoorsy vibe some could say he has been taken fashion advice from Joel in the Last of Us with jeans a green outdoors jacket, black button-up shirt again top buttons not done up with a white undershirt and a brown backpack. As always, the camera is the essential element without a camera all is doomed for this cosplay do not forget the camera. For those asking why I'm not mentioning the costumes, Frank can gain in the game that would take up a list of its own and therefore it's best to concentrate on his main designs.

4. Little Mac- Punch Out/ Super Smash Bros

Now stepping next into our cosplay ring is a video game character that despite his youth has been in this business for more than 20 years is Little Mac. This Bronx New Yorker first appeared on consoles and arcades in 1984 Nintendo Punch- Out. This underdog protagonist evolves with each new version of his game throughout the years and thanks to his appearance in Super Smash Bros games. People receive an easy cosplay to follow. The only problem would be the boxing club but for those who hit the punching bag or workout, you might have some already in which case do not worry about the boxing gloves colour and just use what you already have. If not and you don't want to buy gloves that cool I would suggest green or white sports tape might be cheaper and you still get the overall fighting feel of Little Mac. What makes this cosplay easy to do is that all you need is a black single/tank top and green shorts/ sports shorts with sports shoes/runners. Advice for the hair spike it a little at the front with gel to get that knocked out look.

5. Lee Everett - Walking Dead Game

Again, another zombie protagonist survivor except with a more tragic fate then the others Lee is a very all rounded character who has flaws and strengths that speak to many especially since it is the player who makes his decision in, the Telltale Game of The Walking Dead. In fact, there are many similarities between him and again Joel in The Last of Us.  He also has a beard too so people with facial hair he is perfect for. Again, you do not have to worry about the state of the clothes or even dry cleaning for them. Lee wears jeans and a blue button-up shirt with a white undershirt underneath and closed in shoes. Side note he wears a watch not important but then if you usual wear a watch you don't have to take it off for cosplay.

6. Liu Kang- Mortal Kombat

Finally, no zombies…. Wait I think there are no zombies. Mortal Kombat is one of the fighting classic video game and Liu Kang is a stable character all throughout it saga. The version that is simple to cosplay is one of his first arcade designs from 1992. In this one you don't have to worry about a shirt but Liu Kang does wear black pants I suggest sport/track black pants (If you can find black ones with red stripe on the side even better) have the same flow as the original design you can wear either white or black sports shoes with white socks. Also, I would recommend incorporating a few elements from his updated designs such as a red sash around the waist and red headband around the head. If you can found any also some black wristbands in many of his designs they change so plain or spike or a few interesting designs would not take away anything from the cosplay.

7. Joseph Oda- The Evil Within

Another suited up character except for this time with a vest. Joseph Oda from Evil Within or Pyscho Break as known in some other countries, a survival horror game released in 2014, is a detective investigating a murder at Beacon Mental Hospital (that a good sign). A well-groomed looking man with his black hair gelled back of his face and black glasses. He wears a white button up shirt, black suit pants, black belt, and black closed in shoes. He also wears black gloves and a red tie with a black vest. A white shirt, a red tie should be easy to find and can be bought cheaply. Many might have nice black work pants. The only things that might be too pricey are the vest and gloves so keep an eye out for sales on those items to cosplay with.

8. Archie - Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire

Another thing that will come up on these lists often are options to cosplay as Pokémon characters just because of its popularity, diversity of characters and flexibility in cosplaying the characters.  So, let's start with our first Pokémon cosplay possibility with one of the two evil leaders of the game Archie leader of team Aqua from Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. Now, this design comes from the first edition of the game. Where he wears an open long sleeve black shirt with a pop-up collar, with black nice pants or you can wear black jeans and black closed in shoes. He also wears a silver necklace and blue bandanna with the team aqua symbol on it and hanging down his shirt. He also has a beard so he's great for people with facial hair. To get the symbol I recommend print it out from the web or if you can draw trace it out yourself twice. One for the bandanna which you can stick on with tape or use a small safety pin. With the one on the bottom of the shirt, you can use a safety pin or piece of string to hang it from. If possible I recommend laminating it to have a more effect on it. Also, to add a little more effect if you have a prop or toy Pokeball or a plush water Pokémon for some fun.

9. Calum - Pokémon X&Y

Calum another Pokémon cosplay opportunity from the X & Y generation that was released in 2013. He is one of the optional protagonists with an easier style to find at local stores. With a red hat and black sunglasses on top, you can start your cosplay adventure. He has a tracksuit jacket that is deep blue it does has white stripes but if you can't find any that has the specific white stripe design don't worry it would still look accurate and everyone would know who you are cosplaying with just a plain tracksuit jacket. The main concern is that it's dark blue. This boy does love his blue; he also has blue pants but blue jeans would be fine with black closed in shoes. He also has a black satchel bag but a black backpack would be alright too. If you do not have black hair I wouldn't recommend spending too much on a wig since he wears a hat mostly a cheap wig would be okay. Again, if you want to add some more effect I would suggest also a Pokémon plushie give the whole living in a Pokémon world.

10.Nes- Earthbound/ Super Smash Bros

Alright, I like to introduce you to one of Super Smash Bros lovable character Nes from Earthbound/ Super Smash Bros. Nes is perfect to cosplay for people who are younger then the usual late age teenagers or adult protagonist. Introduce in 1994 Earthbound published by Nintendo, then brought back to video game life in the Super Smash Bros franchise Nes is an easy character to cosplay. He has a red cap, blue and yellow stripe short sleeve shirt (probably the hardest item to find), blue/ denim shorts, and red sneakers. Again, if you do not have black hair I wouldn't recommend spending too much on a wig since he wears a hat mostly a cheap wig would be fine. To top it all of Nes likes to accessories with a backpack and baseball bat to be number one in the Super Smash Bro arena.

Alright, our first list down! Remember to have fun when cosplaying but also be safe and responsible.  Also, check out the next list for Top 10 female video game character with black or raven hair.
